Background information
Living Word Gospel Care Foundation (LWOGCAF) is a Registered Community Based Organization Reg. Number CBO/ 2050 founded by a team of women and men Born Again concerned Christians in the community as a response to the increasing vulnerabilities in the community especially among the Orphans and needy children, Women, widows and the youth.
These members were inspired by a Biblical verse taken from the book of James 1:27 “what God the father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world”.
This organization started on 10th DEC, 2018 by a group of committed Born Again Christians who conducted a Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) in the surrounding sub -counties.
Among the findings were:
Most Orphans and needy children, most Women and Widows were suffering more due to lack of basic needs and neglect.
Most of their problems and community challenges needed physical, spiritual, psychological and social intervention like identifying and caring for the most vulnerable orphans and children, sensitization on gender based violence, sensitization on food security and nutrition, sensitization on education, environment conservation, good governance, creating income generating projects to reduce on household poverty etc.
Those findings were the basis of forming Living Word Gospel Care Foundation so as to reach out to the target community with benefits arising from our programs/activities and also identifying measures of working closely with all categories of people in the community including local leaders and partners.
Living Word Gospel Care Foundation (LWOGCAF) then got committed to helping the most vulnerable orphans and needy children, marginalized Women, widows and widowers attain self-esteem, hope and self-reliance by provision of Food, Clothing, Medical Care, Education and literacy, Technical skills and spiritual word of God. LWOGCAF will also empower the targeted groups with skills in income-generating activities like kitchen gardening, fish farming and organic farming, horticulture, animal rearing to increase domestic incomes and food security.
We are located in the extreme western Uganda about 450 kilometres away from Uganda’s capital city Kampala. We are a few Kilometres from the boarder of the Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC).
Vision
To have an improved standard of living of the orphaned children, widows, marginalized women and poor community members in Bukonzo County –Kasese District.
MIssion
To provide a fair physical, Social, psychological, spiritual, health and nutritional care to the most vulnerable Orphans and needy children, Women, widows and widowers and the rural community to live with hope and equity.
Objectives
- To contribute to the improvement of the welfare of the Orphans and Most vulnerable children, Women, widows and widowers through empowering them with Income Generating, technical Skills and Education.

More About Us
IMPACTS SO FAR ACHIEVED
- LWOGCAF have identified and enrolled 83 most needy orphans and children under our care from the villages of Kisinga surrounding Sub-counties, Kasese District, Uganda.
LWOGCAF supports them with some food, some clothes, shoes, some Medical care and scholastic materials. Their original level of malnutrition has significantly lowered, the level at which they were absconding classes due to lack of scholastic materials has dramatically reduced and their academic performance has improved.
- LWOGCAF is Supporting 9 widows with food staffs such as maize flour, rice and bunches of bananas and their health is improving.
- LWOGCAF has planted one Church – LIVING WORD GOSPEL CHURCH.
- LWOGCAF has 6 Bible Study groups staying many miles away from our Church
- LWOGCAF has started Living Word Orphanage School with sofa 206 pupils including the 83 initial orphans under our ministry care and other 123 needy Children and orphans from very poor families.
